At the heart of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve stands an essential resource for the entire community: Chic Resto Pop. More than just a place to enjoy an affordable meal, this community agency tackles poverty and social exclusion on multiple fronts.

Every day, over 600 meals are served, providing neighborhood residents with access to healthy, affordable food. But Chic Resto Pop’s impact goes far beyond the plate. It plays a key role in socio-professional integration by supporting unemployed individuals in their journey back to the workforce.

Through training programs and compassionate guidance, the agency equips them with the tools to regain confidence and build a brighter future.

Chic Resto Pop is a cornerstone of the local community, forging connections with other organizations to effectively address neighborhood needs. The RAHMA initiative (Réseau Alimentation Hochelaga-Maisonneuve en Action) is a prime example of this collaborative spirit. By bringing together around ten organizations around a shared project, Chic Resto Pop facilitated the hiring of a pivotal food security coordinator—a major step forward for Hochelaga-Maisonneuve residents.

This commitment to collective action is also evident in its support for GEMO (Groupe d’entraide Mercier-Ouest), an agency facing difficulties. By leveraging its expertise in management and food services, Chic Resto Pop helped stabilize and structure this vital resource in the fight against food insecurity.

In a neighborhood facing many challenges, Chic Resto Pop remains an indispensable resource—a place where dignity and inclusion are at the heart of every action, and where, together, a fairer future for Hochelaga-Maisonneuve is being built.
