Given the sharp increase in inflation, Fourchettes de l’Espoir welcomes many families in difficult circumstances. “We help many families who can’t make ends meet or who are trying to integrate and find a routine,” explains Jacqueline Acadier, the agency’s assistant director. These families have urgent needs, and the agency does everything it can to give them concrete help.

A mission of food security and mutual support

For its main mission of food security, Fourchettes de l’Espoir offers a wide range of services, from food assistance and meals on wheels for seniors to snacks at school. While these initiatives help meet families’ immediate food needs, the agency also supports them in their long-term social reintegration.

“We offer day camps for children, which are funded by the borough, and we work a lot with teens in the community,” the agency says.

Beyond food aid, Fourchettes de l’Espoir creates spaces for people to come together and help each other. “We offer day camps for children, which are funded by the borough, and we work a lot with teens in the community,” the agency says. These activities strengthen the social fabric and provide young people with opportunities for development and support.

A springboard for family integration and empowerment

The agency plays an essential role in integrating families in difficulty, whether to provide them with educational resources or help them in their process to adapt to Montreal life.

By increasing initiatives for all family members, Fourchettes de l’Espoir provides a concrete response to community issues.
